Gig Harbor Wings & Wheels back July 2 with aircraft, cars, motorcycles

Gig Harbor Wings & Wheels is back for its seventh year with activities for aviation, car and motorcycle enthusiasts alike.

The air show and car show runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 2 at the Tacoma Narrows Airport, located at 1202 26th Ave. NW in Gig Harbor.

Highlights
Attendees will be able to watch airplane fly-bys, aerobatic performances and drone races, meet pilots, enjoy a car and hot rod show, and see the Smoke-N-Thunder jet car as it races down the runway at 300 miles per hour. A schedule of events is available at www.freedomfair.com/wings-and-wheels.

“Year after year, Gig Harbor Wings & Wheels offers amazing sights and activities for those who appreciate historic planes and cool cars and motorcycles,” said Jensene Linenko, Gig Harbor Wings & Wheels event director.

The event will also feature dozens of planes on display, live music, food and arts and crafts vendors, a beer garden, and activities for children. Private companies may offer rides on biplanes and helicopters. Those interested should ask for details at the gates.

Tickets are available in advance at www.freedomfair.com/wings-and-wheels or at the door. Tickets are $20 for adults 18 and older; $15 for seniors and military ID card holders; $10 for children ages 6 to 17; and free for children ages 5 and under.

Parking

Onsite airport parking will be available for $5, and can be purchased at www.freedomfair.com/wings-and-wheels or at the event. These spots are limited.

Offsite parking is available at St. Anthony’s Family Medicine parking lot at 4700 Point Fosdick Dr. NW in Gig Harbor. Free shuttle buses will run every 15–30 minutes from 10:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. between the parking lot and the event.

Gig Harbor Wings & Wheels is produced by the Tacoma Events Commission. The commission also hosts the Tacoma Freedom Fair & Air Show on July 4 at on the Ruston Way Waterfront.
