Proposal №2018–71, Traffic Impact Fee Program Update
Sponsored by: Councilmember Douglas G. Richardson

I’m still torn on this. While it’s definitely necessary, it’s strange to me that those who opposed a similar proposal for schools, are behind this. I think kids are more important than cars and by far the largest concern identified by the public in recent years has been the sorry state of schools in the county.

That said, I will be offering an amendment. As currently proposed the service area for the peninsulas is currently proposed to decrease slightly (adjusted for inflation) to $1,568. I will propose a level consistent the urban area serving Parkland/Spanaway of $4,439. The additional revenue will be to provide local support for the Hwy 302 (Purdy Dr) improvements identified by WSDOT. This will hopefully speed up those improvements.

My Weekly Calendar

Last year we got a request for my forward looking calendar. Rather than have staff waste their time on public record requests, I decided to publish screenshots. If you have questions, feel free to call. Keep in mind, my schedule isn’t static. Things will get added, deleted, changed, etc. There are conflicts that I have to pick between. But if people want to see where I’m at and who I meet with, that’s fine by me.
