This will be a busy and long meeting because we have a number of reports in addition to the Comp Plan.

We’ve begun a process of updating our community plans. Because they development pressures are more intense, we decided to start with the plans that are within the urban growth boundary.

Proposal No. R2017–17s, Publication of Legal Notices A Resolution of the Pierce County Council Authorizing the County Executive to Enter Into a One-Year Contract for Publishing Legal Notices for Pierce County.
Sponsored by: Councilmember Douglas G. Richardson
Each year state law requires cities and counties to select a newspaper to publish legal notices. In the past, the Council went with the cheapest option which was usually a smaller, low circulation paper. Two years ago we began using The News Tribune. While more expensive, the broader circulation means that it might actually get people’s attention. As a bonus, since it’s published daily, we have more flexibility on publishing notices which can actually save us time and money.
Other Business/Announcements 1. Introduction of the 2017 Daffodil Festival Queen and Royal Court
Each year the princesses come to visit the Council and introduce themselves.

The GMPB meets monthly to advise the Executive Board on key growth management issues. The meeting will be streamed live over the Internet at www.psrc.org.
Action Item (10:25) a. Recommend Certification of Comprehensive Plans for the Cities of Covington, Gig Harbor, North Bend, and Snoqualmie — Paul Inghram, PSRC
We’ve dealt with some issues that led to conditional certifications for a number of jurisdictions. Now that it’s fixed,
Discussion Item (10:35) a. Transportation 2040 Update — Robin Mayhew, PSRC
The regional transportation plan is due for an update. This is a briefing on the work plan.
Discussion Item (10:50) a. Regional Centers Framework Update — Project Objectives — Liz Underwood-Bultmann and Paul Inghram, PSRC
Regional centers are designated areas where growth and transportation invested are directed. The strategy is a couple decades old and it’s potentially time for an update.

9:30am Budget Ad Hoc Committee
The Ad Hoc Committee on Budget was created to perform an in-depth review of county revenues and expenses with the specific intention of looking for opportunities to fund emerging needs through existing revenue sources. The scope of the review includes both general fund and non-general fund items.
I don’t have an agenda yet but there will be a meeting and it will be about the budget.
My Weekly Calendar
Earlier this year we got a request for my forward looking calendar. Rather than have staff waste their time on public record requests, I’m just going to start publishing screen shots. Keep in mind, my schedule isn’t static. Things will get added, deleted, changed, etc. There are conflicts that I have to pick between. But if people want to see where I’m at and who I meet with, that’s fine by me.
